Before writing any questions for interviews - I had "preliminary" conversations with each interviewee before we sat down. This allowed me the chance to get to know each person and begin making them feel as natural and comfortable as possible.

Watching the weather forecast, not impeding Michael's work on the operation, and the tragedy of his father passing halfway through the production - all served as great obstacles in getting this project done. Fortunately, I factored in a whole month for contingency. I then started creatively combining shoots into single days to expedite progress to where editing was not rushed.

We held a private screening on November 28th for all who were involved to get their thoughts. The video was posted and is hosted on YouTube - where our social team is doing a paid campaign behind it leading up to Earth Day. This also also aired on WQAD/Moline ABC and  WPTV/Peoria PBS.

I always had at least 1 other video team member with me on every shoot. Showcasing relevant older footage from our well kept archives also helped the legitimacy and authenticity of tackling the issue of nutrient loss. Due to the passing of Michael's father -  we had to rely on photos of them together.
